Here's a post just to catch everyone up to what we've been up to. The last weekend in April I went on a 4-day women's retreat in Saluda, NC with my church. It was so nice to get away, listen to God, talk with other women, and eat food someone else cooked. I need something like that at least once a quarter! But as it was my first time leaving Alicia overnight - I thought of her a lot!! Trey did a wonderful job keeping her all weekend. They went to Chick-fil-a, the pet store, park, put sand in the sandbox, etc. A bunch of fun stuff! The first night when she finally realized that I wasn't coming back from my "trip", Trey said she collapsed in his arms and wept a sad, mournful cry. After that was done she was fine! Anytime she asked for me, he explained that I was on a trip and she would say "trip" and go on with life. She really bonded with Daddy - she is going through that suction cup phase (always wants to see/touch Mommy) and it has been a little better since my return!! Here is Alicia and her friend Logan. Alicia stayed with Logan one afternoon when I was away and Trey had somewhere to be.
My sister was in town last weekend for a Bachlorette party for one of her friends. Alicia and I joined her for lunch at Fleet Landing. Alicia was ecstatic to see Aunt Kim! When Alicia would look over at the water she would say "Water! Dirty! Dirty!" She thinks rivers/lakes/oceans are dirty! We will have to work on that this summer and get her in the ocean!
And I had to post these cute pictures of my first attempt to put pigtails into Alicia's hair! She looks like she hit an electrical socket, but with a couple of months more growth the pigtails will be adorable!!
