Playtime with Alicia

Trey invented a game to play with Alicia called the "Sleep Monster" in which one of them pretend to be asleep and wakes up when the other person makes a noise.  Then the sleep monster tickles the other person for waking them.  Alicia even makes a fake snoring sound when she is "sleeping".  Sometimes Alicia loves the game, other times she doesn't like the tickling part (just like her mommy!).  Here are some sweet pics of Daddy and Alicia playing.  Remember, "Don't wake the sleep monster!"

Here is Alicia playing the Sleep Monster

Are they both sleep monsters?

I'm going to get you now!

We have been playing outside a lot lately - although with the weather warming up quickly, I'm not sure a pregnant mommy can keep going outside as much.  Alicia loves push toys and is getting better at riding toys.  Here is Alicia on her bike.  She also LOVES to slide.  We go to a park about once a week so she can slide all she wants.

Verbally she is advancing every day.  She can say 4-syllable words like macaroni and Trey gets her to say words like "antiquated" just to hear a 19 mth old say a big word.  I admit that it is amusing.  She also regularly puts together 3 words to communicate a thought.  A couple of weeks ago she actually put five words together and said, "Daddy's car.  Daddy go bye-bye."  She is quite a chatter box.

She pats my belly and says "baby brodder" and will give him a kiss.  She is facinated by the ultrasound pictures - sometimes cries when I put them away.  I think she sees his profile as a face and she definitely recognizes his hand and leg pictures.  "Baby hand!" she says.  We saw a newborn boy last week and she knew it was a baby brother - although I'm still not sure that she realizes that a brother is coming to live with us!
