Our little man is growing up to be such a sweet boy! He is Mama's cuddler (sweet snuggles at bedtime are my favorite!), but still very much a Daddy's boy. He still cries everyday when Daddy leaves, and we still call Daddy at work when Z can't handle anymore time without him! He loves to play rough with Daddy. They wrestle, jump, pounce etc. on the bed. Zachary is quite tough - the rougher the better with him. Boys are so different!
Daddy's Boy
Zachary still loves trucks, tractors & trains ("big truck" "train fast"), but he has a major infatuation with buses. He can spot every bus we pass. We passed a school bus parking lot one day and the high pitched shrieking that went on made me think he was hurt! It was a never ending field of buses in his eyes! Daddy shows him buses on youtube - buses that drag race or have jet engines attached to them - silly, strange, fast buses - definitely a boy thing! He wants buses every time he sees the computer. If it isn't a bus, it is G-dad that he wants on the computer. G-dad has skype now, and when we mention G-dad, Z typically disappears. I've caught him many times standing on a chair trying to pull our notebook computer off the counter so he can see G-dad. Of course any computer will do - even a princess one. This is Z's version of doing his business on the john!
He communication improving greatly. He can pretty much tell me what something is wrong, what hurts, what he wants. He has mastered 3 syllable words - including an adorable pronunciation of "Zachary". He even throws the "a" in Alicia sometimes. He uses his own term "a-wee-one" for "another one". He uses that all the time for more cookies, trucks, books... As we drive around town, we play "I Spy" a lot. Often Zachary doesn't know what we are looking for, but he always points and shouts, "Yeah-e-yis!" (There it is!). He calls everyone a her - asking "see her?" or "where's her?" when talking about Alicia or Daddy.
Best Friends!
He is getting better on shapes. He knows heart, star, cross, triangle, square and sometimes he knows oval & circle - but often he calls those hearts. Colors are another story. He calls everything green and thinks it is hilarious. Ex. Elmo is red. Can you say red? "Red" Ok, what color is Elmo? "Green" Laughter. He is not interested at all in learning colors. He thinks we are playing the "green" game anytime we ask!
He is getting much more picky on food - especially with veggies. He has developed a strong sweet tooth. I don't give Zachary many sweets, but he has become good at hunting them out. He has disappeared in a crowd both at Easter and a recent cookout to go to the dessert table to help himself. He throw fits if he sees something sweet and I don't let him have it.
He remains the adventurer. He recently learned to climb onto our bed. He is tired of all his vehicles that he has to push with his feet - too slow! He wants to ride Alicia's bike with training wheels. Kills my back!! He loves the pool and kiddie water slides! This summer is going to be loads of fun!
