Zachary at 15 1/2 months

At 15 months Zachary weighed 25 lb. 4 oz. and was 33 inches long. He is having a great time enjoying the Christmas season. We went to the James Island Light Festival and rode the train and carousel - he was completely mesmerized the entire time. While Alicia couldn't stop talking,Zachary sat staring with hismouth open. He is doing fairly well not touching presents or Christmas ornaments. He only messed with the presents the first day and now the only ornaments that typically prove to be too tempting for him are the balls and choo-choo. Understandable as he has never seen a ball or train that he couldn't play with. Yesterday he held up a toy train in the tree several times and wanted it to stay there ; ) It was so cute! He wanted it to hang on the tree! He can say HoHo and something that resembles Santa. And heloves to point out baby Jesus - "Eee-us" Too sweet!!

He is talking more and more. He answers "yes" to questions li
ke "Do you want to go outside?" (while of course running to the door). He uses the word tractor or truck interchangeably and points them out to me when we drive around. He gets so excited each week when he gets to see the garbage truck come take our trash away. He says moo, baa, duck, & pants like a dog, and he can point out animals such as dogs, kittens, horses, pigs, monkeys, lions... The word "juice" means anything in a cup although he can say milk when asked. He has approximate words for banana, apple, pineapple, broccoli, Cheerios(dee-dos), paci (babby), bagel (ba-ble) - Trey and I can understand them, but I don't know that most people could. Words like cracker, bread, cheese, bubbles are pretty clear. He knows most of his face features (ears, hair, head, nose, mouth, ear).

He is in the process of dropping his morning nap, but some mornings he still falls asleep for it. Whether he takes 1 or 2 naps he is still always ready to go to bed by 7 or 7:30. He feeds himself most meals with a fork. He wants to use the spoon to feed himself soft foods and often fusses when I don't let him. Maybe this month I'll be more willing to work through the mess, but as for now Mommy feeds the applesauce (or "sauce" as Z says) and yogurt.

He is still Daddy crazy. Every time Daddy leaves there is crying. Every time Daddy is found or comes home, there is delighted squealing! It is very sweet and melts Daddy's heart. Other than Daddy, he is crazy about trucks, tractors and trains. Trey took him to run errands last weekend and said Z about jumped out of his arms to get to the lawn mowers in front of Home Depot. "TRACTOR!" So they went and tried out the mowers at both Home Depot and Lowes ; ) It is amazing how God makes little boys so much different - I don't think Alicia has ever noticed that there are lawn mowers in front of the buildings, but she will notice the "beautiful flowers."

Zachary is becoming much more aggressive. He pushes Alicia out of the way and hits her unprovoked fairly regularly. One evening he kept hitting her in the head with a colander that I was letting him play with. I took that away and he hit her in the head with his juice cup. I took that away and he hit her with his hand... So anyway, he gets to go to time out often.
