Zachary is a busy, busy boy!! He started crawling and pulling to a stand at 9 1/2 months. Life has been very different since!! He leaves a trail of stuff every where he goes... He LOVES emptying and tearing things apart.
Uh oh! I'm stuck!
Here is a typical morning.... After I feed him we go get Alicia up. He then pulls out all the drawers of her kitchen along with the gazillion pieces of toy food, empties her bookshelves, shreds toilet paper while I take her potty, takes the potty apart while I find her undies, empties baskets and toy bins in the den while I fix breakfast and then takes all the animal and ABC magnets off the fridge while I try to put stuff in the dish washer... House is trashed before 8 a.m. ; ) Ok... so he has never done ALL of that in one morning but he does at least TRY to do all of that MULTIPLE times a day.
Look what I found in the diaper bag! What fun!! A Cheerios explosion!
He is soooooo curious about everything. But tender-hearted too - he gets so upset when I take something away or move it (sad, heartbroken, not an angry protest cry) Poor guy sobs like the world will end sometimes. Breaks my heart. Alicia was never like that. She learned boundaries easily, and although she would get mad sometimes and of course test the boundaries, her feelings were never hurt by saying no or putting things out of reach. Z doesn't get it yet... However, he does understand "No, sir." and will at times obey or at least get distracted.
Alicia and Zachary play SO well together now. He follows her everywhere and she LOVES having someone to play with. She will take him into one of their rooms and sometime will play 15-20 minutes (for a mom - 15 minutes of peace feels huge!!). Of course you never know what you will find.... One day I was surprised that the room wasn't very messy. Later that day I went to change Z's diaper and there were no diapers in the drawer. I opened the closet and there were the diapers... along with another entire package from the closet.. in a big heap on the closet floor (we are talking probably 80+ diapers) All fluffed and piled on the floor. Ha! Alicia now knows that wipes (yep, that happened too) and diapers are off limits when playing with Z. But there is no amount of mess, that could lessen the joy that I get seeing how much they love and adore each other. Zachary squeals in delight when I approach her door to get her up in the morning or after nap. That is something I truly treasure. It is my prayer that they will be best buddies in the years to come.
Fun in our pool!
Hmmmm... How to climb... How to climb...
Didn't make it, but aren't I cute?
