Christmas 2009

Merry Christmas! We had a wonderful Christmas spent with family and friends. It was fun teaching Alicia the Christmas story. We got her the Fisher Price Nativity set which she played with almost everyday leading up to Christmas. She can set all the people and animals up and sing "Away in a Manger" with it. She loves reading about baby Jesus and the Wise Men and gets very concerned when we ask her what the innkeeper says. "No room." she says with her eyebrows furrowed.

The weekend before Christmas we went to Wilmington. Thankfully the kids actually traveled well. Alicia especially had a blast with all of the presents, cookies and over indulgent grandparents. Alicia got a microphone from Grandma and Gdad. She knew just how to work it the moment that she saw it and serenaded us for almost an hour after she received it. It has a drum beat and applause pedals - the girl loves some applause. She wasn't even interested in opening her other presents! She instructed us all to sing, "Everybody sing!" - however, if Trey sang she would say "No Daddy sing!" I think she wants to be like Trey, but doesn't want to share the limelight!

She's a natural!

She also got a lot of dress up clothes from Zsa Zsa and Aunt Jaime and a kitchen from Santa. Now I find her in her room with high heels and a crown on cooking spaghetti ; ) She loves playing princess. She calls Trey her prince - it is too sweet. Trey asked her for a dance one evening, and as they danced around the room she exclaimed to me, "Look Mommy! I'm dancing with Daddy! (pause) like a princess!" She even gets Daddy and Zachary involved with dress-up - Daddy prince and boy prince is what she calls them!

We wish you all many blessings in the New Year!
