We celebrated Alicia's birthday with Granny and Grandpa Weeks a couple of weeks early since they would be out of town on Alicia's official birthday. It worked out great for Alicia to have a few extra toys to get to know before her big day came. Her favorite presents from Granny and Grandpa are the Little People Barn, the ring stack and xylophone. She loves dropping the animals into the barn silo and holding her hands up to say "Where did they go?". She can say pig (no g sound!) and calls the sheep BaaBaa and the cow Mmmmm. She loved those little animals so much that the first few days she had them she carried them everywhere - to the high chair, the car and even to the crib when she napped! Here is Alicia banging on the xylophone - she knew exactly what to do!
The first few times we played with the ring stack we played a game where I would put them on and she would take them off. She learned quickly that she would "win" if she grabbed the bottom one and pulled them all off at once. However, without me trying to teach her, one night she took a ring from me and put it on! Wow! I didn't know she was the coordinated yet! She proceeded to put them all on - and screamed and clapped in delight after each one. Yep, she's pretty proud of her accomplishments! I am too!
