Our Big Boy!

Zachary had a well-baby check-up yesterday. He weighed in at 28 lb. 12 oz and was 35" long. That puts him over 75 percentile for weight and 97+ percentile for height. So it is no wonder that his clothes and shoes are getting too small! He's growing up too fast!!

He had a fun experience at the check-up. Our doctor let him put the stethoscope in his ears and listen to his own heartbeat! Trey said that he got very still and unsure when the stethoscope was placed in his ears, but when he heard his heart a huge smile spread across his face. He said, "gen!" (again) So they did it twice! Zachary loves drums, so he probably thought it was a cool beat!

It reminded me of when Alicia was about his age and I took her with me to one of my pregnancy appointments. She got to listen to the baby's heartbeat and her own heartbeat. She talked about it for months!

He got one shot and last night he kept pointing to that leg and with a sad, wrinkled brow he would say "hurts! hurts!" : ( Poor boy!

His height is enabling him to climb more and more fun places! He can now climb into his high chair, out of his car seat, and if he lines kitchen chairs up appropriately he can climb across kitchen chairs and over the back of the recliner. Fun stuff!
