Alicia's Milestones

Alicia is off to a good start at preschool this year. She is going twice a week this year. The first day she was sooooo excited. She wanted to go to school before she even got dressed or had breakfast. However, after the first week she began saying that she didn't want to go to school. One morning when she was especially sad, I asked her if she liked her teachers... her friends... the toys... She said "No!" to all of that. She cried and said "I don't want them. I want you best!" It melted my heart, and I told her so - to which she responded, "It did not! Because you still got a heart!" When I picked her up that day, she ran to me with a big smile and said, "I had fun at school today!" But after two weeks with a lot of protests, she is now going in and leaving with a big smile!
Alicia was ready to "take the rail off" her crib on September 19. Trey changed it into a toddler bed, and she is loving it! We've had no problems with her getting up at night. She knows that she is supposed to stay in bed until the clock starts with a 7 - and she does an amazing job with that. In fact one morning she slept passed 8am, and when we went to get her she exclaimed, "But it's not a 7!" I guess she would've stayed in there all day???
About two months ago she started giving up her nap. She now only falls asleep a few times a month. I still make sure she spends 1.5-2 hrs. of "rest" time in her room. I've given up getting her to stay in the bed for that length of time, but she has no problem staying in her room and quietly playing with her dolls or books. And occasionally she will even sleep!
